WHO ARE TRAILBIKESPAIN?
In 2007, after 2 years of research mapping off road trails and obtaining the necessary permissions, TrailBikeSpain was launched. The company is run by Dave Finlay & Taru Burstall.
Dave has spent most of his life in the 'motorbike game'. His father Tom was a road racer and TT competitor and had Dave competing in schoolboy Motocross from the age of 6. At 74 Tom still visits and helps out mechanic-ing on tours. Dave acts as your tour guide, coach if requested, mechanic and general trouble-shooter.
Taru looks after the admin side of the business, making sure your enquiries are answered promptly, arranging offroad tour bookings, hotel reservations and generally ensuring that the tours run smoothly. Having an extensive knowledge of the offroad routes, Taru also acts as backup 4x4 driver, meeting us en route with spares or even a spare bike if needed.

a) The BIKES - KTM 530 EXC-Rs, maintained by Dave in accordance with KTM's competition service schedule. The machine you ride will be in top condition, no broken levers, bent bars, worn-out tyres, tired engines, etc.
b) The LOCATIONS - the Terra Alta and Aragon mountain region offers thousands of offroad trails to suit all rider abilities. It only takes 2 hours to fly from London. The terrain is green, varied & forested in parts, rocks or desert in others, with stunning skylines & lakes, entirely unlike the monotonous dry landscapes of southern Spain.
c) LOCAL KNOWLEDGE - having lived and worked in the region for years, Taru & Dave have well-established networks allowing them to select the best available options for your trailbiking holiday, from choosing the best trails to suit your abilities to recommending the best restaurants and accommodation.
CAN WE BOOK AN EXCLUSIVE TOUR FOR OUR PARTY ALONE?
All our tours are are exclusive to your group unless you request otherwise. From previous experiece we have found that most groups of friends are of roughly the same ability level therefore we do not mix your group with other groups.
CAN I COME ON MY OWN?
Yes, of course you are very welcome. Again you can ride exclusively with Dave as your guide, or we can place you in a group of similarly experienced dirtbike riders if they have also stated they are open to that.
WILL I BE OUT OF MY DEPTH AS A FIRST-TIME OFF ROADER? ARE THE KTM 530 EXC-Rs TOO POWERFUL?
As long as you hold a full motorcycle licence you will have no problem managing the trails. We specialise in providing tuition so that you can get the most out of your trailbiking holiday. The KTM 530 EXC-R is no different than any other 500cc motorcycle. Obviously they are powerful, but again the rider is in control of the throttle just like on a road bike. And we can guarantee you that in one day of offroad riding you will learn more about motorcycle characteristics & control than riding a bike on tarmac for a year.
